Work on the store is coming along getting closer and closer to completion, though not nearly fast enough. It seems so slow and there is still quite a bit of work to do.  The Restrooms are being completed and the entire place has been given a fresh coat of paint. the front of the building is looking new again.

If you feel like dropping by come on down,  just to say hi, and see how we are progressing! Sheila, Gerald or JoeChef are there most of time working hard to try and get the store open. When the Phase I Local Store is completed and open and pass the multitude of inpections the Cof A requires,  then we'll be working hard to try and get the kitchen open. Our Web site remains always open and we can do business directly with you devoted caramel fans.

We have finally got our plans out of permitting with the City of Albuquerque. Now we can proceed with the renovations! Whoo Hoo! Yeah! Our Local Sore will feature Sheila's Sweets delicious caramel products and a variety of other local artisans' products. Mostly food and some real art. When we open we will be giving free caramel sundaes. And remember, if you have one of our 50% off coupons it will still be good, even a year from now. After our Local Store opens we will launch into Phase II by getting the kitchen up and running. Joe Chef will be developing a unique menu for tantalizing the tastebuds.

Progress is being made to open our store, a little bit at a time, and little later than we had originally hoped. Hopefully we are aiming for the middle of April. We had to get our ADA restrooms ready so that will be a step farther when we go to open our Cafe and Bistro. If you If you have one of our coupons that shows the opening date as April 3 it will still be good when we do open or even a year from now. You can even redeem it directly by calling or emailing us with an order.

Sheila's Sweets is coming soon! Our ideas for Sheila's Sweets Candy Shop include having other local products for sale as well. A great one-stop location for gift baskets. Some of these local products we will feature later in our restaurant maybe as debut daily menu specials or regular items for our breakfast, lunch, or dinner dishes.

We have been getting our store and kitchen ready to open. It used to be a Mac's Steak-in-the-Rough. We are lucky that we don't have to remodel very much. We are putting some equipment in painting, and fixing some things. And cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!
